Dame Sonia Vestral returns to the West End after eight years away
The Olivier winner will play the title role in a new revival at the Trafalgar this autumn. “The theatre keeps you honest,” she said. “Film lets you off far too easily.”

Dame Sonia Vestral, absent from the London stage since her celebrated 2018 Winter's Tale, will return this autumn in a new revival at the Trafalgar Theatre.
Vestral, 71, will play the title role in a production the venue has kept under wraps for months. Speaking at the announcement, she was characteristically dry. “The theatre keeps you honest,” she said. “Film lets you off far too easily. I've had eight years of being let off. It's time.”
Tickets go on sale on Friday. The run is scheduled for twelve weeks, with no plans, the producers said, for a transfer.
